SWIFT Support Program

From Frustration and Exclusion to Connection and Inclusion

Helping every child — and every classroom — succeed.

At KenCrest, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive in an inclusive early learning environment. Our Child Care SWIFT Support Program partners with teachers and families to build positive behavior strategies, strengthen social-emotional learning, and create classrooms where every child feels they belong.

Together, we replace frustration with connection and exclusion with inclusion — helping children, educators, and early learning centers succeed.

Be Part of the Change

In 2020, KenCrest launched the Child Care SWIFT Support Program, an innovative early childhood intervention designed to help children with behavioral challenges stay successfully enrolled in their early learning centers. This program provides behavior support for children who are struggling in the classroom and at risk of expulsion.

KenCrest’s SWIFT Support Specialists partner directly with early childhood educators to identify the root causes of challenging behaviors and implement positive behavior strategies that work for both the child and the classroom. Through hands-on coaching, collaboration, and modeling, instructors help teachers build confidence and create a more inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Together, families, teachers, and KenCrest specialists strengthen each child’s social-emotional development, reduce behavioral stress, and promote long-term success — both in the classroom and beyond.

Why SWIFT?

A recent Philadelphia survey found that 37% of child care programs had suspended or expelled a child under age five — underscoring the urgent need for early childhood behavior support and inclusive education.

Nationally, preschoolers are suspended or expelled at three times the rate of school-aged children. Even more concerning, children with disabilities make up just 13% of preschoolers but account for 75% of all suspensions and expulsions.

These numbers reveal why programs like KenCrest’s Child Care SWIFT Support are vital — helping teachers and families use positive behavior strategies to keep every child learning, growing, and included.

The SWIFT Mission

At KenCrest, we’re committed to ending suspensions and expulsions for children under age five in early learning centers. Through the Child Care SWIFT Support Program, we combine trauma-informed care with positive behavior support strategies to create inclusive early education environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

The SWIFT Difference

  • 176 referrals and growing
  • Over 80% of children supported through SWIFT remained in their early learning centers
  • Over 90% of educators reported greater workplace satisfaction after participating in SWIFT

These results show the true impact of KenCrest’s Child Care SWIFT Support Program — helping young learners stay in inclusive, supportive classrooms and empowering educators to create positive, thriving early education environments.
