At KenCrest, we believe that every child deserves the chance to dream, grow, and thrive. That belief is one we proudly share with First Up, an organization that has been at the forefront of advocating for quality early learning for decades.
From birth to age eight, the early years shape the foundation for a child’s entire future. First Up knows this truth well, and their mission is simple but powerful: to ensure that every child has access to high-quality education and care—no matter their zip code, background, or family circumstances.
For the past three years, KenCrest and First Up have stood shoulder to shoulder in the fight for stronger policies and greater support for early education. Together, we’ve co-hosted legislative forums and community listening sessions, creating space for parents, educators, and community members to share their stories directly with policymakers. We’ve worked side by side to prepare for a policy hearing in Harrisburg, raising our collective voice on urgent issues like competitive teacher pay and expanded Pre-K access.
These efforts haven’t just brought attention to the challenges facing families and educators—they’ve built bridges between communities and lawmakers, sparking real conversations about what it will take to create lasting change.
First Up’s advocacy is tireless, rooted in a vision of a future where children are given the very best start. By mobilizing resources, rallying partners, and keeping children at the heart of every conversation, they’ve shown what it means to be a true Community Champion.
As we honor First Up at KenCrest’s 10th Annual Community Champions event, we are celebrating more than just an organization—we’re celebrating a partner who refuses to let the future of our children be an afterthought.
Thank you, First Up, for your leadership, your partnership, and your unwavering commitment to making sure every child has the opportunity to shine.
