Family Visitation Update as of April 1st, 2021

To the Families of KenCrest,

As more people become fully vaccinated from COVID-19, and as we continue to see a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the regions we serve; KenCrest will be implementing more conscious, but less restrictive guidelines to help those we support—transition more fully into the greater community. One of our biggest priorities is doing what we can to support those in our care—in reconnecting with their families and friends—as safely as possible.

Starting April 1st, 2021, residents who are fully-vaccinated (at least 14 days after their second vaccine dose of Pfizer/Moderna or first and only dose of Johnson & Johnson) may participate in overnight home visits, and receive loved ones for in-person, outdoor visits at their Community Living homes. Please contact your loved one’s Program Manager to schedule visitation at least TWO days in advance, to ensure we can complete any accommodations or preparations needed for the visits.

Regarding Overnight Home Visits

Residents who are fully vaccinated must still wear a mask and practice social distancing when in the community, outside their loved one’s home. They can dine out with you, visit shops, go to parks, and/or visit other lightly trafficked places as long as they can abide to the aforementioned.

Regarding In-Person, Outdoor Residence Visits

Residents who are fully vaccinated must still wear a mask and practice social distancing during outdoor visits at their homes. No guests are permitted inside their Community Living residences, and eating and drinking during those visits is prohibited.

Regarding Gifts of Any Kind

If a Community Living residence is fully vaccinated (meaning your loved one and their housemates), your loved one may receive gifts (including food) such as Easter baskets, care packages, etc., to their homes. Please check with your loved one’s Program Manager for the overall status of the residence.

As more of the KenCrest community becomes vaccinated, we will continue to create less restrictive environments. If you have been exposed to COVID-19 or tested positive within a 14-day period, please do not schedule a visit and/or cancel any previously scheduled visit until you’ve had a negative test result, quarantined, or been fully vaccinated. Prior to scheduling your upcoming visit, please take a moment to review this  list of frequently asked questions regarding visitation and our current transitional plans. If you have additional questions that this document does not answer, feel free to reach out to your loved ones’ Program Manager, Personal Outcome Champion, or email safety4kc@kencrest.org.

KenCrest appreciates your continued support as we do what we can to keep everyone safe, healthy, and included.

Sincerely,

Rosemarie Kehoe
