Everyone should have the opportunity to engage in the activities most important to them. Through the Meaningful Day initiative, KenCrest supports participants in the hobbies, classes, events, and outings that interest them; such as art classes, bowling, visiting local parks and museums, or doing yoga.
Billed as a Community Participation Service in Pennsylvania; Meaningful Day programming provides opportunities to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities both in one-on-one and small group settings, directly in the community (not in a day program location). Meaningful Day is ideal for people who enjoy trying different activities, meeting new members of their greater community, and those who want to improve on their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). This program provides a combination of:
- Volunteering
- Civic activities
- Social outings
- Hobbies
- Classes (online and in-person)
- Physical activities
- Employment
