For over two decades, KenCrest has been proud to partner with Open Door Ministry, a faith-based nonprofit organization in Royersford, PA, dedicated to serving the Spring-Ford community. Through its two thrift stores and food pantry, Open Door provides vital resources to local families while creating meaningful opportunities for service and connection.
Each week, residents from KenCrest homes contribute to this mission by delivering food donations to local businesses and assisting with the pantry’s operations. From weighing and bagging items to stocking shelves, our volunteers have become an integral part of the Open Door team. Beyond the pantry, they’ve also gained valuable experience in customer service, clothing donation sorting, and data entry, skills that build confidence and foster independence.
At the heart of this strong partnership is Jackie Alegado, whose leadership has welcomed KenCrest volunteers as essential members of the Open Door family. Jackie’s kindness and commitment ensures that everyone who walks through the door feels valued and included. Her guidance has not only strengthened the partnership but has also opened new avenues of purpose and belonging for KenCrest participants.

The impact of this collaboration is felt far beyond the walls of the thrift stores and pantry. It is seen in the pride of volunteers who know their contributions matter, in the smiles of families receiving food and clothing, and in the ongoing spirit of community that defines both Open Door Ministry and KenCrest.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jackie and the entire Open Door Ministry team for their generosity, compassion, and unwavering support. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community, one act of service at a time.
