Community Participation Day Programs
KenCrest currently offers robust and varied community participation day programming at locations in Pottstown, Wyncote, Malvern, and Exton, PA.
These programs provide a combination of:
- Community participation activities
- Contract work
- Daily living activities
- Engagement activities
- Leisure activities
Participation in these programs focus on enabling a participant to do what they most enjoy and be encouraged to explore and trying new activities, like art, yoga, paper making, and more.
Community participation day programs provide small groups of participants with activities in a community-based setting. It is ideal for individuals who enjoy activity within a structured program setting, and it is outcome-based and provides a variety of options with new and exciting activities to choose from, based on individual preferences.
KenCrest actively pursues grant funding as well as other alternative funding streams. This allows KenCrest to be able to provide a greater number of innovative and creative “out-of-the-box” employment opportunities that are otherwise not funded by traditional sources.
Seeds Of Purpose
Located in Pottstown, PA, the Seeds of Purpose program blends horticultural therapy with training in gardening including planting, nurturing, and harvesting.
We have a beautiful greenhouse, raised gardens, and a retail store all on site. Participants learn about retail and horticultural practices, customer service, and a variety of other skills.
Day Program Electives
KenCrest currently has two community participation day program creative electives: KenCrest Creations and ArtWorks.
The KenCrest Creations elective offers participants an opportunity to work on creative activities, many of which use items provided by the Seeds of Purpose horticultural program, to produce crafts and gift items. These items are sold exclusively at local events.
The Art Works program at KenCrest is a creative program providing participants with an opportunity to create a variety of art projects under the guidance of a professional art instructor. Each artist directly receives all proceeds from the sale of their art, which KenCrest promotes and sells for them. Art Works is a private-pay program.
