Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are at the heart of the KenCrest tradition.
The volunteers who work with us in education, advocacy, community revitalization, and consultation built the foundation of our agency and have nurtured its growth for over a century.
Time, expertise, creativity, and compassion are the invaluable gifts of our volunteers. Appreciation, honor, service, and friendship are their rewards.
KenCrest’s historical affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has always brought volunteers of all ages, making new friends with residents at our group homes or assisting residents who use wheelchairs in community outings.
Student volunteers have helped with many projects, from gardening at our centers to creating marketing studies for KenCrest.
Business volunteers have offered expert advice in the formation of our EmployNet Business and Industry Council, and have assisted at a variety of KenCrest events.
Community volunteers helped to paint a mural at our South Philadelphia Early Childhood Center, transforming the neighborhood into an urban oasis.
There are many opportunities for volunteers at KenCrest:
KenCrest Event Volunteer
Assist or take part in a KenCrest Event, including the annual KenCrest Golf Tournament, the KenCrest Prom for the people who we serve, or the annual Lutheran Charities Bike Ride.
KenCrest Volunteers on Call
Join the KenCrest Volunteers on Call team and help with projects at our centers and group homes on an “as-needed” basis.
Center or Group Home Volunteer
Assisting with community outings, reading with children, planting gardens, or painting are just some of the volunteer opportunities at our Adult Group Homes and Early Childhood Centers. Work with children requires a PA Child Abuse History Clearance and Criminal Record Check.
If you would like to volunteer with KenCrest, please call Marcia Berner at (610) 825-9360 ext. 212 or e-mail us.
