Autism services at KenCrest are provided across the lifespan. Children, youth and adults, receive individualized supports to enhance communication skills, improve social interactions, and develop the necessary skills to lead a productive and socially connected life as they choose.
KenCrest has classrooms where your child can learn and play with children their own age who do not have developmental concerns. Our certified, professionally trained staff will engage your child’s interests and abilities so that they reach their maximum potential. We believe partnerships with parents are essential components of the classroom. KenCrest staff use play, self-discovery, and participation in tasks to build your child’s knowledge and confidence. Teachers work closely with therapists and your family so your child can be successful. KenCrest therapists specialize in speech and language, occupational, physical, and emotional wellness.
If your child is an infant or toddler, KenCrest staff are specially trained to provide Individualized Support Project (ISP) services. This is a thoroughly researched best practice designed for the families of children on the autism spectrum who have challenges with communication, social interaction, and behavior.
Does your son or daughter have trouble establishing relationships, maintaining relationships, avoiding risky interactions, or developing their social skills? KenCrest has a special program (START-Social Transitional Activities for Relationship Transformation) that can help. Your son or daughter will be part of a 10-week course offered in conjunction with your school district or day program and designed specifically for youth and adults with autism. The program brings your child together with 10-12 peers in a directed group setting.
