Lutheran Affiliations

Since our founding in 1905, KenCrest has maintained an affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This historic connection continues today through the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod. As a faith-based affiliate of the Lutheran church, KenCrest is part of several networks, with direct access to nationwide resources.

Lutheran Services in America
KenCrest is a member of Lutheran Services in America (LSA). LSA is the largest alliance of faith-based health and human service agencies in the country.
This network includes more than 300 organizations related to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. These organizations serve 6 million people annually, meaning that they served one in 50 people in 40 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. LSA member organizations deliver $6.5 billion in services each year through a workforce of 270,000 staff and volunteers.
LSA works to increase the service and witness of God's people in both church and society. The LSA mission is to support the members' ministries of service and justice by creating a unified system to build and maintain relationships and resources.

Lutheran Services in America - Disability Network
KenCrest is a member of Lutheran Services in America - Disability Network, a national network of faith-based agencies that serve individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities. This network includes 15 member agencies providing services for more than 12,000 people with disabilities in 27 states. Together, these organizations reach across the country to share successes and expertise in developing high quality, individualized services. To better serve, the members have established partnerships with one another to link resources and skills.

Pennsylvania Lutheran Network
KenCrest is a member of Pennsylvania Lutheran Network [PLN]. PLN is a statewide association of 26 health and human services agencies that work collegially with the seven Lutheran synods, the Lutheran colleges, and seminaries to coordinate efforts and identify join projects on behalf of the people they serve.

Professional Exchange Programs with Lutheran Partners
KenCrest staff are participating in an international exchange with the Rainbow School in Tanzania, a Lutheran-support school for children with special needs through the companion synod program of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod, ELCA. Most recently two staff shared their expertise in information technology and special education with Tanzanian colleagues. KenCrest is currently hosting the director of the Rainbow School for an extended time of study and field experience at KenCrest locations.
