Developmental disabilities are chronic disabilities that are attributable to mental or physical impairments apparent before the age of 22. These disabilities tend to be life-long and result in substantial functional limitations in major life activities such as self-care, receptive and expressive language, learning, mobility, self-direction, capacity for independent living and economic self-sufficiency. Some developmental disabilities include mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, various genetic and chromosomal disorders such as Down syndrome and Fragile X syndrome.
There would be no KenCrest without its 1,400 staff. The agency employs direct care staff who work in residential settings, teachers who work in our child developmental centers, employment support staff who are out in the community finding jobs for the people we serve, therapists who go into families homes or school settings, individual and family support staff who serve in community settings, administrative staff who support our employees "in the field", in addition to many more. You can learn about more about becoming a member of the KenCrest staff by going to the website's
Employment section.
