KenCrest Child Development Centers provide quality child care and early childhood education for young children with and without special needs. Our child care centers are located in Philadelphia and in the surrounding suburbs. KenCrest centers are safe, caring places where children develop self-esteem, intellectual curiosity, motivation, social and self-help skills. The emphasis is on the individual needs of each child within a developmental framework.

Early Childhood Programs
KenCrest Early Childhood programs enhance each child's ability to become self-reliant problem solvers. In order for the child to gain self-esteem, many of our centers have adopted the High Scope Curriculum. This nationally acclaimed curriculum follows the philosophy that children within a carefully planned daily routine, are given the opportunity to work and play, to make choices, to pursue their own interests, to interact with peers and to solve the problems that arise during this process.

Inclusion
The inclusion of children with special needs is an important aspect of a KenCrest Center. Typically developing children acquire an understanding for those who differ slightly in their appearance or abilities. Close friendships start to grow among the children. As a result, the child's self-esteem increases. Some opportunities that the children experience are art, music, dramatics, cooking and science projects. Additional classroom and therapeutic supports for children with special needs are offered at all sites.

Parent Involvement
Parent associations and support groups are part of most centers. Parent supported activities at individual centers may include music program, Suzuki music with instruments, computer experiences, and special on site activities.
