Social Transition Activities for Relationship Transformation

KenCrest provides 10-week courses throughout the school year for youth and adults with autism. 

The START Program
10 – 12 people in each group

  • Each group is led by credentialed and experienced consultant
  • Each group meets once a week for 10 weeks (schedule varied depending on need)
  • Each workshop includes three group socialization activities in the community
  • Each participant receives a social skills evaluation at the end of the workshop
  • Each participant receives a notebook to use for future activities/relationships in real-life situations

Goals

  • Increase social skills
  • Establish relationships
  • Improve ability to maintain relationships
  • Directed practice in social boundaries, reading social cues, social etiquette
  • Implement strategies to avoid unsafe or risky interactions
