KenCrest serves thousands of people with disabilities directly, but we speak up for all people with disabilities. We believe that the barriers between and among people are creations of human nature. We advocate for the needs of people with disabilities and for the elimination of labels that separate people.
As part of our advocacy, KenCrest has become an active member and leader in a number of local, state, and national organizations that are passionate campaigners for people with disabilities. Membership in groups such as these gives KenCrest stronger voice and more direct entrée to the people who are passing laws and making policies that directly affect those we serve. On our own, we would not be as effective.
Some of our best advocacy resources are:
Lutheran Services in AmericaLSA is the largest network of human service provider agencies in the country. Their 300+ members serve one in every 50 Americans in one way or another. The members of LSA commit billions of dollars every year to the provision of services to people in need.
