  • EmployNet is KenCrest’s network of employment options, building careers through innovative community partnerships. We believe that all people have the right to work and, with the proper support, can develop marketable skills.

    EmployNet offers a wide variety of work options in both our facility and community based services, providing person-centered experiences and opportunities that help to build the bridge to successful and meaningful community integration.

    Community-Based Services – consist of individualized services that honor interests and choices, increase social skills, expand community relationships, and cultivate employability. These services are provided in local community settings.

    Alternative Services: (Transitional Employment) offers workers the chance to participate in volunteer work and to visit local companies and businesses. Trained staff provides transportation, skill instruction and support to workers as they learn about different types of work and work environments. This service provides:

    • Skill Assessments
    • Person-Centered Community/Career Planning
    • Career Exploration
    • Community Safety Training
    • Volunteer Experience
    • Social Skill Development
    • Job Sampling Opportunities

    * This service is offered in at a ratio of one staff to three workers and includes transportation from a primary location to community based activities.

    Availability:
    Alternative Services are available in Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties

    Supported Employment: Our professional staff match job candidates with desirable openings in the local business community. A job coach works closely with the worker and employer to ensure the success of the job placement by providing job training, transportation training or support with social skills. This service provides:

    • Job Skill Assessments
    • Person-Centered Planning
    • Community-based Work Assessments
    • School-to-Work Transition Planning and Support
    • Job Finding/Matching
    • Job Training
    • Coordination of Workplace Accommodations
    • Travel Training
    • Employer Consultation
    • Follow-along Supports and Case Management

    * This service is offered at a staff /worker ratio of one to one.

    Availability:
    Supported Employment services are available in Berks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.

    Facility-Based Services- (Community Habilitation and Pre-Vocational Services) Through three diverse programs located in 2 separate facilities, EmployNet provides opportunities for workers to learn important social and work skills and begin to build community partnerships.

    Work Activity Center - 21 Robinson Street, Pottstown, PA
    • Ratios of one staff to 15 consumers or one staff to seven individuals.
    • Participation in a variety of contract work and paid work experiences.
    • Community employment and inclusion are encouraged with individualized, person-centered goals.
    • Career-based curriculum offered to teach new skills and create a variety of work opportunities.

    Adult Training Facility - 21 Robinson Street, Pottstown, PA
    • Ratio of one staff to three individuals.
    • Supports available for individuals with more intensive physical and medical needs.
    • Participation in work opportunities.
    • Person-centered community goals in place for each individual

    Farm – Sanatoga, PA
    • Ratio of one staff to six individuals. 
    • Horticultural training program.
    • Pottery shed and kiln on premise.
    • Natural crafts, flowers, herbs, and vegetables are produced and sold locally throughout the year.

    School-to-Work Transition

    • All of the above services can be accessed by transitioning students.
    • KenCrest staff can attend IEP meetings to assist in planning the services and supports that will be needed by the student to transition into life after graduation.
    • School District partnerships welcomed.
